Steps To Resolve Chromecast Not Working Issues:
Factory Data Reset –
A complete factory reset is a great option to try in case of issues with the device as it will bring the device back to the original settings. It also makes it easier to figure out if there is a defect from the manufacturer’s side. A lot of people are hesitant to use this option as they fear they’ll lose all their app data. This is not the case, as all app data is continuously synced with the Google account they use to Sign In. The only change is one in the Chromecast number, but that does not in any way affect the user. Only the setup process has to be repeated.
To reset your device, find the reset button behind the device and hold it for at least 20-25 seconds. Wait for your TV screen to go blank as this indicates that the device memory has been successfully cleared.

Turn the power button of the router to ‘off’ and then cut the power supply. Leave for 10 seconds and then switch on the power supply and button again. The position or angle of the router too may be the cause of some issues. Moving the router closer, adjusting the antenna or getting a Wi-Fi extender may prove to be very helpful.
Use the Extender –
The purpose of the extender cable that comes with your Chromecast device is basically to act as an antenna for catching Wi-Fi signals efficiently. The short, stiff cable sticks out a behind your TV. This is needed because TV’s are huge and block the Wi-Fi signals from reaching the device. So, it is advised to use this cable to get the best possible reception and thus streaming speed.
